Boating season 2024
Boating season 2024 on the canals of The Hague is coming to an end, marking the conclusion of recreational boating activities for the year. Typically, the boating season in The Hague runs from April to October, but as autumn progresses, the weather becomes less suitable for boating, and the city begins preparations for winter. Maybe some other boat tour companies still runs the business in wintertime, but we think it’s too cold for an open boat ride. Our last day is Sunday 6 October.
Winter Storage and Maintenance
As temperatures drop, boat owners usually take their vessels out of the water to prepare them for winter. Winter storage facilities around The Hague offer places for boats to be kept safely and maintained during the off-season, protecting them from potential damage due to cold weather or storms. Our Daisy stays on the Poolsterhaven covered under tarpaulin.
Holiday and Family time
In the winter period we also take the opportunity to spend more time with our children and grandchildren. We also like to go on vacation and Jan tries again to continue building boat Jane. Free time and family time are essential for building strong relationships, creating lasting memories, and promoting well-being.
Mid-april 2025
The new boating season is a time of renewal and excitement, allowing both experienced boaters and newcomers to rediscover the beauty of The Hague’s canals. It’s an opportunity to enjoy the city from a different perspective, reconnect with nature, and make memories with friends and family while navigating the waterways.
Looking forward to a new boating season on the canals brings the promise of adventure, relaxation, and the enjoyment of The Hague’s beautiful waterways. As the weather begins to warm up in spring, we can anticipate the start of a fresh season filled with new opportunities to explore. Mid-april 2025 we’re coming back on the canals of The Hague!
